Tool Length Sensor 8 mm for CNC Machines

Tool length sensor with an 8 mm contact head. The spindle creeps down, the cutter touches the plunger, the microswitch closes and the controller records the length. From then on you change cutters without finding Z zero by hand.

Build

Aluminium body, turned and milled, with a stainless plunger and a microswitch inside. Repeatability is 0.01 mm — the same measurement lands within a hundredth of a millimetre every time.

Wiring

A 3 m three-core cable goes to the probe or tool setter input of your controller. Works with Mach3, LinuxCNC, Estlcam, Eding and anything that accepts a dry contact.
